The village of Colfosco (Calfosch in Ladin) is the last village in Val Badia and is located at an altitude of 1650 metres. Lately, the village has become a popular tourist attraction but it still retains its typical Ladin architecture and traditions.
The church of Colfosco dates back to at least 1419 and it is quite famous not only in South Tyrol, but also in other countries, for its artistic treasures and above all for the splendid view of the Sella Group (Grup dl Sela) that can be admired from the church.
Its special location at the foot of the Sella Group and Mount Sassongher and next to Puez-Odle nature park makes this village a great attraction for tourists who love the mountain, hiking, climbing, via ferratas and coniferous forests.
Both in winter and in summer many folklore events are held in this area and there is entertainment for both young people and adults.
